Havering Council have announced that their grounds maintenance service has suspended routine functions, such as grass cutting, so that staff normally carrying out this work can be available to support other essential services, including waste collection and street cleansing.
However they will still be able to respond to any emergencies, manage sight line issues caused by shrubs, empty litter bins and maintain fine turf areas, which would take many months to restore to a playable standard if they were neglected.
