With COVID-19 cases rising rapidly in Havering, the government and Havering Council have opened a walk-through coronavirus testing centre in the council car park on the corner of Cherry Tree Lane and Rainham Road in Rainham. The test centre is expected to be in place for up to six months, depending on the pandemic situation, and will be open seven days a week from 8am-8pm.
A coronavirus test must be booked in advance – you cannot just turn up at the centre. To book a test, visit the NHS COVID-19 website nhs.uk/coronavirus or call 119.
A test should be booked as soon as coronavirus symptoms become apparent, however mild, with results returned the day after the test is taken.
