Havering Council have now restarted green bin garden waste collections. For current subscribers, the collection days should be as per the published calendar.
Due to the extra amount of waste currently being collected and the number of times the collection lorries are having to be emptied each day, it is not always possible for the council contractors to complete their designated rounds every day at present. This should return to normal in the near future but until then the advice is that if your green bin is not emptied as scheduled, you should leave it out again the next day. For collections not completed on a Friday, the bin should be left out on Saturday.
Subscribing and Renewing
Havering Council will be issuing a refund of £4.40 to current subscribers for the missed collections in April. For anyone who did not renew at the time and for new subscribers, the fee for the rest of the 2020/21 period is £50.60.
