Older Person’s Freedom Passes give holders free travel across London on all Transport for London (TfL) buses, London Underground, London Overground, TfL rail, Docklands Light Railway and tram services. They also allow free bus journeys nationally.

London Councils, who administer the scheme, have announced that to help conserve space on the public transport network, a temporary restriction will be imposed from Monday 15 June, limiting the use of Older Person’s Freedom Passes, 60+ Oyster photocard and English National Concessionary Scheme passes to outside of the morning peak period (4.30am-9am Monday to Friday). The passes will still be valid at all times at weekends and after 9am on weekdays.

Similar restrictions are likely to be brought in for non-TfL bus services but these are yet to be officially confirmed. Disabled Freedom Pass holders are unaffected by these changes.

Further information can be found on the London Councils website.
