Havering Council have a Business Helpline, which is available Monday to Friday from 9am-4pm on 0345 017 0743 or via e-mail at businessdevelopment@havering.gov.uk . Information can also be found via their website – havering.gov.uk/covid19business .
The council have also given the following information regarding top-up business grants –
‘We are pleased to announce that the first phase of the discretionary ‘Top-up business grants’ will be available from Monday 8 June.
The discretionary fund was issued by the government for local authorities to be able to support some of those businesses that fall outside of the existing assistance available during the COVID-19 crisis.
Since the original announcement, we have been working on how best we can implement the eligibility criteria to help as many businesses in need as possible within the limited resource available.
The first phase will be split into three areas of eligibility, which are:
Micro-businesses in managed workspaces and incubators
Retail outlets that aren’t separately rated, in Romford Shopping Hall, and concessions in Romford’s three malls
Regular market traders returning to Romford Market
The first two categories will be eligible for a £5,000 grants, and can claim from Monday 8 June.
The Council has commissioned Capital Enterprise, a third-party not-for-profit organisation, to process applications for these grants. Capital Enterprise is already providing this service for another council, and as a result, are best-placed to process applications and ensure businesses can receive their grants as quickly as possible.
Market traders will receive a grant equivalent to 6 months’ rent, which they will be able to claim directly through Havering Council. We will begin the process automatically this week, and will be in touch with traders directly to confirm eligibility details.
If you’re unsure as to whether your business is eligible for a discretionary grant under these criteria, or if you have any further questions, we will be holding a live question and answer session via our Facebook page on Thursday 4 June, at 5pm. Alternatively, please contact us on businesssupport@havering.gov.uk .’
