The national introduction of the coronavirus Track and Trace service is unfortunately likely to lead to criminals attempting new scams.
To combat this, Full Fact (an independent fact checking charity) have published information on their website on how to avoid such scams. The main points are listed below –
Real contact tracers will never do any of the following:
- Ask you for details of card or bank account numbers
- Ask you to provide or fill in social media login details
- Ask you to set up a pin
- Ask you to download anything
