Reporting scam e-mails – Be a cyber hero!

On 01 May 2020 we published an article on how the Government’s National Cyber Security Centre (NCSC) had launched a suspicious email reporting service, to allow people to report e-mails that they believe are bogus or phishing scams. Since then over 160,000 e-mails have been forwarded to them and 300 scam websites taken offline.

Having a publicly available e-mail address, I receive up to ten scam e-mails a day and reporting each one takes only a few seconds. You can do the same by simply forwarding any suspicious e-mail to report@phishing.gov.uk . You do not need to type any message with it.

Obviously, DO NOT click on any links in an e-mail you think may be bogus and do not reply to such e-mails.
