May 5th 2022 could see big changes in Havering and everyone has a part to play if a change of Council is to happen in our Borough. We all know how fast the weeks will go by once we get through January and this really is a chance for those of you unhappy at how Havering is being run under the current administration to make your feelings known and vote for local residents and the Residents’ Association.
Laurance Garrard and myself are keen to represent you all in Emerson Park ward, as are our colleagues and friends who are standing in wards all over the Borough – we are a united team and to see more here is the Facebook link. www.facebook.com/HaveringsResidentsAssociations .
Back in 2018, the results were so close in Emerson Park that there were three recounts before the winners were confirmed. As we were so close to winning seats, Laurance and I felt we simply could not give up and so have spent the past four years committed to helping local people in our own time. Needless to say, we really do want to win a majority in 2022 and finally take our seats on the Council, to represent you all.
For some of you with older teens, this may well be the first time they can vote too, so please do encourage them to make the effort and check they are registered if they are 18 before May 5th. Both postal votes or in person at polling stations are counted – the key thing is to make sure you are on the electoral roll in good time if you want a say in how things are run in Havering. If you have not registered to vote yet here is the link www.gov.uk/register-to-vote .
We have met so many lovely people whilst we have been out delivering the Bulletin and look forward to meeting many more of you over the coming months.
Thank you for your continued support.
Laurance Garrard and David Godwin
