Independent review of government’s approach to delivering net zero

The Department for Business, Energy & Industrial Strategy has published the findings of a Government commissioned independent Net Zero Review.

The report makes a large number of recommendations and identifies ten priority missions to achieve net zero carbon emissions nationally by 2050, covering the following areas –

  • Grid and Infrastructure
  • Solar
  • Onshore Wind
  • Nuclear
  • Energy Intensives and Industry
  • Circular Economy and Waste
  • Net Zero Big Bang
  • Energy Efficiency For Households
  • Net Zero Nature
  • R&D and Innovation

Havering’s current Climate Action Plan sets a target to achieve net zero carbon emissions by 2040.
